What You'll Do:

  • Develop material selection strategies and requirements for new process plants during the R&D, proposal, and execution phases, focusing on corrosion and other material degradation processes.
  • Prepare and review material selection documents.
  • Provide operational support through material consulting in cases of plant malfunctions, material failures, deviations, and quality issues.
  • Conduct failure investigations of complex material problems, including occasional business trips to production sites or equipment manufacturers for troubleshooting.
  • Advise on emergency repair procedures and select appropriate non-destructive testing methods.
  • Perform lifetime evaluations and inspections of equipment in aging plants.
  • Train colleagues on specialized topics in material engineering globally.
  • Stay updated on international standards, literature, and best practices for material selection in process plants.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of internal standards, work instructions, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure technical alignment of material engineering topics with global engineering hubs and manufacturing sites.
  • Represent Linde in international expert committees on material engineering.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Master’s degree in Material Engineering, Material Science, Corrosion Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Preferred qualifications: PhD, International Welding Engineer (SchweiBfachingenieur, SFI).
  • Extensive professional experience in the field.
